Turn on AI, if you like

In Settings, AI, use Apple Intelligence on macOS 26, or add your own key for Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok or a local server.

    How AI works

What you need

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later. DailyUtil is built for current versions of macOS.

  • A Mac with Apple Silicon and Intel. Any Mac with an M-series chip, or an Intel Mac that runs macOS 14. Pick the matching download.

  • For Apple Intelligence, macOS 26. With Apple Intelligence turned on. On older macOS, AI works with your own key.

  • No connection needed. Every tool works offline. Only AI with a cloud key, updates and a licence check go online.

Which Mac do I have?

  1. Open the Apple menu in the top left corner and choose About This Mac.
  2. A line that starts with Chip and names an Apple chip (M1, M2, M3, M4 or later) means Apple Silicon: DailyUtil runs on it.
  3. A line that starts with Processor and names Intel means an Intel Mac. Use the Download for Intel card above.
  4. The same window shows your macOS version. DailyUtil needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Verify

Check that the file is ours

The app is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so macOS opens it without a warning. If you want to check the download yourself, compare its SHA-256 with the one here.

  • Signed and notarised. Apple has scanned this build and macOS checks its signature each time it opens.

  • Updates are checked four ways. The app installs a new version only when the version is newer, our release signature matches, Apple's code signature is ours, and the bundle is the version promised.

Questions

Before you download

More answers on Support

What is DailyUtil?

A native Mac app with the small developer tools you reach for every day: JSON, JWT, Base64, URL encoding, Unix time, UUIDs and hashes, in one window with search and keyboard shortcuts. It works offline, and every tool has AI help through Apple Intelligence or your own key.

Which Macs can run DailyUtil?

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple Silicon or an Intel processor. The download button picks the right build for your Mac, and both are on the download page. AI through Apple Intelligence needs macOS 26 on Apple Silicon; with your own key, AI works on any Mac DailyUtil runs on.

Which tools are in the app today?

Version 0.1 has seven tools: JSON Format, Base64, URL Encode, JWT Debugger, Hash Generator, Unix Time and UUID. Text Diff is next, then the Pro tools such as RegExp, Cron, YAML, Number Base and the Debug Assistant, in free updates.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every tool runs on your Mac and needs no connection. Only AI with a cloud key, and later the network tools such as DNS lookup, go online, and only when you press their button.

Is there a web version?

Yes, dailyutil.com has free tools in the browser. The Mac app is for the tools you use all day: faster, offline, with clipboard detection, shortcuts and AI.

We record downloads from this website: the IP address and the place it belongs to, your browser, the page you came from, the type of Mac and the version. This is the website only; the app sends us none of that. Privacy policy
